bulletDiscussion re: constitutional review requested by the synod office, the RIC process for congregations, and our continuing relationship with the Florida-Bahamas Synod of the ELCA.

Additional expenses during the past month included several items:
-- Completion of the parsonage hospitality center and office complex. (New furniture for the Pastor's office was provided without cost to the congregation.)
-- All city sanitary sewer connections have been completed.
-- Landscape needs as a result of the work are being met over the course of time.
 
bulletDeclared Abiding Savior Church an ELCA "Book of Faith" congregation with two primary goals:
    1) Increased emphasis on scriptural literacy and understanding for the congregation
    AND
    2) Increased emphasis on the two-way relationship implicit in God's Word.
 
bulletReviewed recent worship and parish life needs.
 
bulletAdopted a resolution establishing the Zaccheus House Retreat Center of Abiding Savior Lutheran Church.
Guidelines: The Zaccheus House Retreat Center will be reserved for the use of Florida-Bahamas Synod Staff as well as Lutheran clergy and their significant others for a maximum of two persons. Standard rates of $40 single / $50 double per night. Reservations will be on a first-come, first-served basis and secured with a $20 non-refundable deposit. Further details to be reviewed at the next meeting of the Leadership Team. This ministry of the congregation will help meet the need for affordable temporary housing in Fort Lauderdale for synod staff and clergy persons who choose to take advantage of its availability.
